1. Nowabouts Xhrèfhil knew that the Nobles in Khàqra were families of great agriculture wealth and that one of the honored Viceroy Queens from the Khmàkhtain had a Son whose name was Èkhut.

2. And Tàkhtas from the Blue Tribe in the Dragon Kite Cities chanted to Xhrèfhil her foster Mother, “Because I am not allowed to fight the Shield Maidens, please, permit dear me to go now into the plantations in order that I try to gather among the bundles of blue grain and mushrooms that escape from the reaping Clockwork Automata’s claws, in fields where perhaps I may find grace from a household.” And the other answered her, “Humble go, my loved Daughter!”

3. She went therefore in order to gather some creal of blue grain and mushrooms after the reapers. By chance she came to a portion of the farms that belonged to the Viceroy Queens of the Khmàkhtain, who belonged to the honored Qháyatsir.

4. Lo! the first born Queen, Èkhut’s Mother, coming from a high castle in the city, chanted to the reaping Clockwork Automata and the servants – Be it that Star Father be with you all!” And they answered her, “May Starfather bless you!”

7. Desiring such, the maiden chanted, ‘Please permit dear me to begin gathering bundles of blue grain and mushroom that remain, as I follow the steps of the reaping Clockwork Automata!’ Thus she came, and she has remained from the second hour until this time. She has not gone home for a single moment.”

8. Then the Regent Queen chanted to Tàkhtas, “Listen with careful ears, my Daughter! Do not gather in another field, do not depart from this place, but stay here with my handmaidens!

Jú. Toe fhakhtoisyàr-epakh lyánaûmat-étyai khyunguin-ùtya ximfhù-yafham kae kae taê teirinwi tus qthèqwin kúyoaka. Pajè-qletha jhentà-xhlawa xhroe pú-xing-axhwa fhanxhi-yáxeus khleitesur kúyan. Ke se sas xhwèqhitho tútlhixing khaû-qhotsi asqay-àxhmikh tlhíni-yèxhyeu jatsu-yùtya pejor kaléfha xhaûtha teir! –

9. With your brow-star eyen gaze upon some of the fields that they reap, dear one, as you walk along behind them. I for one, indeed, have commanded my servants not to annoy you. When you are thirsty, humbly approach the water jugs in order to drink of the water in the context of the servants drawing water!”

Lwó. Qìr té xhwenítlhetlhang-èlpiin ojúrù-yatser xhmunífhero kus paje-fhrìmeqhe Sarauníya-yaswaôr-ing – Xhyeixhmoas xhyeixhmoas xhrúfha’ ujàxhmi jhkhie-yòntet péni toaqing jaê pú-xhli pejor lyowèngqamat xhele-khaolye-yejìkh-ejait khmethèlumu si yekhwus túxing? –

10. Then the maiden stood and bowed low with piety, saying to the Viceroy Queen, “Whyever have I, by chance, found both favor and grace in your sight, while you notice me, a foreign woman from another country?”

11. The Queen replied unto her, “All of the things which you have done, on purpose, for your foster Mother after the dishonor of your being defeated has been altogether reported unto me along with the story in reference to which you left your Aunts and Grandmothers and the land of your birth and with reference to which you came unto a people who were unknown to you in the past.

12. Be it that Starfather reward your work, and may a blessed glory be given unto you from Starfather, the Artist of the Land of Story, under Whose wingfins you have come, seeking some safety.”

13. Then she chanted, “I have, by chance, found both favor and grace in your imagination, my lady Queen, because you have comforted me, indeed speaking kindly unto me, your handmaiden’s heart, though I am different to your beloved handmaidens.”

Pratà-yaloi fhtao-yùlkha qhiqhíthnaing paje-thiijhwelónge kexhe-xhmi-xing Lwánàka-xing – Íyétyaî-yipau tsiqhiya-yèxhyeu jákh-utya-yòntet khnèmitho teir! – Kho koaqing xhés qhuxhwa-yuqei-yòntett tyaqája kexh-ing qoîtot fheqos-àxhmikh xhnípe pfhu khrusta-yùlkha xhnir khnèmitho wtsongta-yàxhmikh jhpethuyòmpoxha pfho Khmixhejurakà-yatser koaqing pùpwowo Tàkhtas xhnoe jhulyuyújo kexhing ke se sas qlús khwá-yùtya sukhpi-yèxhyeu kexhe-qi-xing.

14. At the time of lunch the Queen informed her, saying, “Come hither so that you, dear one, may eat of honey bread and sponge salads!” So she sate among the handmaidens and thralls, while the Queen served out some toasted honey breads along with sponges of sapling spongy matter, while Tàkhtas sate down, until she was satisfied, when she had some food as leftovers.

Fhéxhi. Jhyoê kexhe-yatser-ing qoe kuirqrelónge fhwaxhno-yùtya khalqi-yotya-yòntet tlheûkhti khwùlqu qlètha khemle-khyètlhefho Telèxhnu-yan kus pajethoqelínge – Thyèfhefhe khrúje túyuqei xhnoe jhkhùse kexhing kus xìmfhumatt túxhni-xing-epyer pwé kexhing xhémù-yatlhui túyetwursur!

15. When she rose to gather some bands of blue grain and mushrooms, the Queen commanded her servants, saying, “May she forage among you and the sheaves, while she harvests with you, and do not cause her to blush because of shame!

Jíxhi. Xhnoet salwu-yàmpeis pejor xhùqyo qlús xhroe tlhaqun-otya-yòntett talamíjurs khmapafhtu-yèpwo qìr xhmé tú tus khmìqhikh keixhrejor qoe jáxe’ oakhúyimàt-ejikh fhyuxhetha-yèlwil kexhing-epyer khnenau-khwàtlhatu xhele xhmir ixhmoâxhner-ing kei-xhrejor khnón! –

16. Also, you shall, with intention, pull out with regards to gowpens of blue grain and mushrooms from the bundles as you leave them, so that she may gather without shame, and have no one who annoys unto her who accumulates them!”

Kuirqrelónge qus unyie piê-yaloi tsena-fhàrna se qir tìrxho sukhíyena xhroe xing kexhing jáxe wtsarlkhentù-yejikh tsena xhlir qràna khroníka-yìnwi tlhérò-yatser pejor khnáng tlhixhlamàt-afham qìr xhré xhré kexhe kae xingepyer kho pajè-kape kexhing kùyojo túteka fhrotlha-yotya-yòntet fhlùkhpa kexhe-qi-xing.

17. Therefore, after she collected in the purple plains in the farm until evening, she thrashed with a rod, threshing with regards to what she had acquired, and so she understood that she had three ephahs of blue grain and mushrooms.

Pejor lrékh teiqha-xhloire-yùlkha koaqing uwekhèthaka tlhujaxúxoi-yèxhyeu qir fhapròka-xing kexhing koaqoas fhtanar xhmir Khmafhloyoîngpa-xing lroqhílkhom fhoyèqti tnenekhmàt-afham qir xhré xhré khlárt kae xing kexhe-yan-inginwi. Jònxhu pòkhite xhroe xhmérs xhroa teiqha-tlhelru-yèpwo Xhrefhil-àswaor kexhing.

18. Holding her basket, she returned to the sky towers in the city, where she showed her foster Mother what she had gathered. She gave Xhrèfhil the food that was the the remainder from her lunch.

Khéxhi. Eiqhor-pajè-thuyeir kexhe-xhmi-xing fhtanar-Khoîmim – Khnaolyu-yexhyeû-yaxiis jáxe’ oakhúyimàt-ejikh teirepyer ófhir xhyoaqoas xhyoaqoas qir tlhín tóxing? Plárim-áxeus éxho-yùpwar kus khuswe-tlhetlhèpfhu kus khuswe-kekèlpu! – Kho khnàqhemat khyéja fhtanar-Anetaîngta so xing tsena-khneyipexha-yeîtlho kuxhnoas kiqhíqnaung exhing kexhing paje pejor thyòqamat – Ei Qíriniîle-xing pakhmòkh-uqei Khaqra-yàxhmikh kus fhòpfhamet solan-èxhyeu púxhli. –

19. And her foster Mother chanted to her, “In what place did you gather, dear one, and wherever did you work today? May the woman who noticed you, who felt compassion towads you, be blessed!” So she narrated to her foster Mother, saying, concerning the person with qhom she worked, saying, “’Twas with the firstborn Queen of Khàqra that I happened to work today.”

Paje-fhloîqi fhtanar-Swíyoila-yaswaôr-ing Xhrèfhil – Khnoêr kexhing khmáletim-èxhyeu †Koliixhno-yetwúreu kus joxhelíngè-yaxúng kus paníqrà-yaxúng teiqha-khreuxujórei xhroe qheyeiyo-yàswaor Jai xhmir Qhùngpus! – Paje-saqa-yòjhwan kekexhe-xhmixing Xhrèfhil – Khmaîtlha Xheníqwa-yàswaor pi kuqoas Xhthayaîngpa-xing syaô kus Èkhut kus Lwakhaôtha lwothotlha-yulkha-yèngut-ing xhlir khwuráraûngqa Jhkhaîqna-xing. Xhnefhoâxei’ ei ptiptiêsakhh khrat emlenur-ùpwar. –

20. Xhrèfhil answered her foster Daughter, “May she be blessed by Starfather, to be glorious, for he has not withdrawn, he has not forsaken his lovingkindness from the living and from the Honored Dead!” Xhrèfhil continued to say to her, “My husband’s family happened to be vassals unto this Queen who has an only Son, Èkhut, a Prince of this city. ‘Tis possible that he may be our savior.”

21. Then Tàkhtas from the Dragon Kite Cities chanted, “Furthmore the honored woman chanted to dear me, ‘Tis near the elegant servants that I have, be nearby, be nigh, until they finish all the harvest which I have.’”

22. Xhrèfhil chanted to Tàkhtas, her foster Daughter, “’Tis good, my Daughter, that you go outwards for reaping with her handmaidens, lest your enemies meet dear you, my chance, in another plantation.

Xhítlhe. Kho koaqing xhnoâ fhlìfhors paje-yatanair-àswaor Sarauníya-xing kexhing jhexhmaji-yèxhyeu qir tìrxho fhtékh xhroe xhrèpu xhroa tlhaqun-otya-yòntet tlheûkhti’ íkhìl-an-ing pejor xhnípe khneurltu-yùlkha xhthénaloi tsìja. Eiqhor koaqing qhànkhakh fhtanar xhnir Qráyiîngta-xing kexhing.

23. So she stayed close towards the Queen’s handmaidens in order to gather until the ending of the harvests of blue grain and mushrooms, when the food was stored up in the triangular and circular barns. And she dwelt with her foster Mother.
